Werewolves

Werewolves are the creation of Magicians; More often than not, they are seen as mindless savages, yet have a complexity of factions that would have all Werewolves adhere to. The oldest of these creatures are Pack Masters, controlling family or Pack units of Wolves. They are extremely powerful forces of nature and are capable of feats of strength that make them a weapon for some. Werewolves are not as mindless as they seem but often cannot withstand magic.

Pack Masters

Pack Masters are known as Leaders or Alphas in a Pack of Werewolves. They are male-only, and if they so choose, they can select any female they wish. They are responsible for the Pack's safety because of their strength and abilities that come with becoming the Pack Master. Their power is the Pack and must respect the laws of the Pack or face a challenge that will defer their power. Only a Pack Master can turn a Human and bring them into the Pack. Rogue Wolves serve as threats to the hierarchy and are eliminated on sight.

Pack Members

Every Werewolf that is under the Pack Master is a Pack Member. Their status in the Pack is determined by their own ability to be a productive member. Of course, over time, Wolves age and are culled from membership, as they become a liability instead of an asset. They have roles within the Pack that works as a unit to better the whole.

-Warrior: The protective unit of a Pack, charged with the defense of the Pack and also the main fighters. Versed and trained to fight with their natural abilities with tooth and claw. In their human form werewolves are trained in combat with swords, shields, and hammers.

-Wolf: Members who have no identifying rank and often tasked to a number of roles.

-Hunter: Providers of the Pack who hunt for food, and are often skilled trackers and survivalists. The hunters of the pack will often protect the village and support the Warriors when out on patrols, they are keen on having the ability to track due to their training in scents. They will often be trained for years to be considered a true hunter.

-Pup: The “youth” of the Pack. (New Werewolf who has yet to turn, or has had their first transformation).

Rogue Wolves

Wolves with no home or Pack, they are an endangered species and often take up with Magicians or Humans to serve as watchdogs.

Werewolf

Life Span: These beasts can live upwards to two hundred years. Werewolves live so long because of their heightened regeneration abilities, prolonging life - even in their natural form. They are turned by Pack Leaders. While they have long life spans, they are still susceptible to premature death from any number of causes, especially when they turn feral.

Magic: Shifting, Telepathy, Enhanced Senses, Agility, Strength, Regeneration. Can create more werewolves.

Weaknesses: Decapitation, Fire, Magic (Animal Summoning, Mind control), Silver, Wolfsbane, Extreme blood loss, Suffocation, Drowning.

Culture: Familial or Pack oriented Werewolves, they have a strong sense of family and connection. Rogue Wolves are often seldom found but not unheard of. Even without a Pack, Rogues still long for some sort of connection. Werewolves, generally speaking, are friendly and loyal to each other, and their Pack Master. They are a tribal culture with traditions that celebrate the full moon, a first shifting, and when “Pups” become “mature” to be considered true Wolves. The Alpha is the only one who can accept a new Pack Member, by cutting his flesh and offering it to a Human or Elf. (Elves do lose a majority of their power.)

Characteristics: Wolves are large creatures and have a build that is physically fit. They are capable of shifting into a bipedal Wolf much larger than their Human forms, often growing in size by two or four feet. If a standard-sized Human male at six feet tall is turned, his Werewolf form is likely around eight to ten feet tall. They often are in packs and run together or in groups when out. This is to improve their hunting and stalking, and their warfare is often fought with guerilla tactics or brute strength alone. Wolves have a distinct odor to Vampires and cannot hide this scent. Found in Moorland Forest mainly, but rogues are known to travel.

Umazin Wolf  Pack

The Umazin wolf pack was founded by the creation of magic, the identity of the werewolves' first maker is unknown, and yet the race has thrived, creating more into his numbers and family. Through each generation and life of the wolf pack, more have come to depend on their leaders founding a home within the Umazin village and territories. Their hunting grounds are sacred and allow very few to trespass.

The Umazin village is home to many of its pack members and even humans that live among the wolves. Extended families and even the weary traveler can be seen in the village. The wolf pack is otherwise peaceful when it is now threatened by elements outside its control. Vampires have been known to trespassing as well as magician they are dealt with, with a serious force of concern having only strength in number to overtake anyone who warrants investigations.

The pack is ruled by the Pack master Julian Fvore, selected by the last Pack master as his heir. Fvore is a warrior at heart but is bound to his nature of a large broody beast. He commands the pack in all things and will die, like many others, to protect it. Each werewolf was hand-selected by the Pack masters to ensure their strong ties of loyalty and family sense of dedication.
